Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Fundraising Officer to support our fundraising team in delivering the outcomes of The Big House’s Fundraising Strategy. The role will focus on income generation from trusts and foundations.

Job Description

Job Title: Fundraising Officer
Reports to: Head of Strategic Partnerships
Term: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), with some evening and weekend work
Salary: £27,000 + 5% employer pension contribution
Annual leave: 21 days + Bank Holidays, plus discretionary office closure between Christmas and New Year. An additional day of leave is granted per year of service, up to a maximum of five extra days
Probation period: 6 months
Location: Full-time, in-person, London office

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Fundraising Officer to support our fundraising team in delivering the outcomes of The Big House’s Fundraising Strategy.
Mentored by the Fundraising Executive, with a focus on income generation from Trusts and Foundations
Involves bid writing, nurturing current and generating new funding relationships, and day-to-day administration of The Big House’s reporting deadlines
Supports the Fundraising Executive in managing the fundraising pipeline, ensuring a strong list of relevant prospects and that weighted pipeline value covers the funding gap

Job Requirements

Trusts and Foundations:
Produce well-researched trust and foundation proposals to meet income targets
Support the Fundraising Executive on strategy delivery and pipeline management, ensuring a healthy prospect list and coverage of the funding gap
Support reporting and application deadlines
Coordinate funder cultivation opportunities, including events and productions
Create funder-facing presentations; update the Head of Strategic Partnerships
Support diversified income strategy and multi-year funder identification
Cultivate relationships with current, historic and prospective funders

Research:
Keep abreast of cultural and care-sector policy
Research similar organisations and their funders
Ensure up-to-date evidence and statistics are used in funding copy

Admin and General:
Keep supporters informed; represent TBH at events
Support donor communications
Responsible use of AI per TBH policy
Contribute to monitoring and evaluation
