Trustee (voluntary role)

Bromley House Library, a registered charity, occupies a unique niche in Nottingham’s cultural and literary landscape and has been operating from this site since 1821. We have a dual charitable mission – to enrich the lives of our users and to preserve the physical fabric of Bromley House, a historic Grade II* listed building in the centre of the city.

We have a skilled team of staff, trustees and volunteers to help us achieve our aims and we now seek new trustees to join our Board. Trustees have a key role in shaping the future direction of the Library, at a time of challenge and opportunity. If you have time to give, love literature and heritage, and want to work with others to support this unique and much-loved library in the heart of Nottingham, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to have a positive and meaningful impact.

Our main requirements for the role are a commitment to the values, aims and vision of the library, the ability to think clearly and strategically, and the time available to attend meetings. However, we would be especially interested to hear from you if you have a background in library or collections management, fundraising, capital project management, digital communications and/or have strong networks with other organisations in the heritage, cultural, arts and literature sectors.
