Job Description
The Senior Technical Manager is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for leading all technical services across the National Centre for Circus Arts.
You’ll ensure the safe, efficient, and innovative use of our spaces, equipment and teams. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll manage infrastructure planning, studio operations, health & safety, and production delivery. The role leads on rigging compliance, equipment lifecycles, and capital projects, while also line-managing our Technical Manager and supporting a freelance team.

Job Requirements
Job Requirements
Experience in a senior technical/production role in live performance, circus, or theatre
Strong knowledge of rigging and working at height
Experience managing people, budgets, and safety systems
Confidence with technical equipment (lighting, sound, AV) and systems like AutoCAD and QLab
Excellent planning and communication skills
A hands-on approach and a passion for safety, collaboration and problem-solving
Professional qualifications (e.g. ABTT Gold, IOSH, NEBOSH) are welcome but not essential.
