Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Project Curator to join the department of Greece and Rome to support, develop and deliver the Amazons exhibition.

Job Description

This will be a major exhibition exploring the enduring fascination with the legendary warrior women of Greek mythology, from the ancient world to contemporary popular culture.

Working closely with the Lead Curator and Senior Project Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting all aspects of exhibition development, including public programming and the final stages of publication production. As a core member of the project team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of the exhibition through research, project coordination and stakeholder engagement, working across departments and external partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong research skills, excellent attention to detail, organisational and interpersonal skills, and a passion for communicating stories from the ancient world to diverse audiences. You will work alongside leading curators and museum professionals while helping to create an engaging and accessible experience for audiences around the world.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who combines scholarly curiosity with excellent administrative and communication skills.

You will have:
A degree in a relevant subject such as Classics, Classical Archaeology or History of Art.
Demonstrable interest and knowledge of relevant topics such as Greek mythology or classical reception.
Museum, exhibition or research experience. Experience developing exhibitions or public programmes for non-specialist audiences is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ideally, you will have some prior experience of public speaking.
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and managing digital imagery.
The ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
