Job Description
Naturehood is a creative health & environmental arts programme delivered by Cayr Charity on Church Street, Westminster. We’re recruiting a pool of freelance artists to deliver weekly creative workshops with small groups of young people aged 9 to 15 (most of the group are younger, but tell us your preferred age range in your proposal & we’ll recruit accordingly), on nature-responsive art forms such as, but not limited to, slow-looking & painting, botanical photography & print, biodiversity photography & zine-making, and climate storytelling.
Practical details
– Sessions: 2 hours, once a week, whether for a single session or across a block, with 15 minutes each side for set up and set down.
– Group size: 5-8 young people, aged 9-15 (state your preferred range in your proposal)
– Venues: Lilestone Street Community Hub & Church Street Library, Westminster
– Fee: £284.31 per full day (2 workshops) / £156.38 per half day (1 workshop)
An enhanced DBS check & a safeguarding briefing are required before your first session
We’re open to proposals from artists wanting to deliver a single session or a full block of sessions, so do let us know what works for you. Our first block starts in October 2026.
Job Requirements
Ideally 3 years’ professional experience of participatory or community-based practice, ideally with a nature, environmental or place-based dimension to your work.
Experience working with children and a good understanding of facilitation is essential.
You don’t need previous experience with every art form listed, we’re building a roster across several disciplines.
