Job Summary

We’re seeking an organised Freelance Board & Governance Administrator to support our Board of Directors. You’ll coordinate meetings, maintain governance records, support trustee administration and work closely with the CEO and Board to ensure effective governance and compliance.

Job Description

Hours & Pay: 24 hours per month | £20 per hour

We are looking for an organised and proactive Freelance Board & Governance Administrator to provide high-quality administrative and governance support to our Board of Directors.

Working closely with the CEO, Executive Assistant, Co-Chairs and Board members, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of Board and committee meetings, maintaining governance records and supporting trustee administration.

This flexible freelance role is ideal for someone with experience supporting Boards, trustees or senior leadership teams within the charity, public or not-for-profit sector. You’ll help coordinate governance processes, maintain important documentation, support compliance activities and contribute to the ongoing development of the Board.

The role is primarily home-based, with occasional attendance at Board meetings held at our West Bromwich office. You’ll work independently while building positive relationships with trustees and colleagues, ensuring governance processes are well organised, accurate and effective.

Essential
– Experience supporting a Board, trustees or senior leadership team.
– Excellent organisational and administration skills.
– Experience organising meetings and taking accurate minutes.
– Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality.
– Understanding of charity or not-for-profit governance.
– Experience maintaining governance records and documentation.
– Proficient in Google Workspace
– Ability to work independently.
– Access to your own equipment.

Desirable
– Experience within a charity, CIC or not-for-profit.
– Knowledge of Companies House and Charity Commission requirements.
– Experience supporting trustee recruitment and Board development.
– Experience using governance software (e.g. Governance360).
– Understanding of GDPR and governance compliance.
