Stage Manager

The projects:

– The Dark is a dance-theatre adaptation for ages 4+ , based on the book by Lemony Snicket, where a brave young boy befriends the darkness in a captivating and accessible performance.

– The Sleep Show is a dance-theatre show for children aged 3+. It’s a heartfelt and poetic exploration of sleep, where the wonders of dreaming, soothing rhythms of lullabies, and secrets of the body clock come to life through dance.

Dates:
6 weeks: Monday 12 October – Monday 23 November 2026.

Job Responsibilities:
– Managing the get in, fit up and get out. You will have support from two in-house technicians and the cast.
– Driving the tour van (Luton).
– Overseeing the collection and return of the set to storage, and the van hire.
– Operating the show.
– Managing relights and lighting operations on Nomad.
– Setting up and operating sound equipment, including microphones, PA, and QLab.
– Working closely with venue staff, front-of-house teams, and technicians to ensure smooth communication and delivery of the production.
– Tracking, maintaining, and caring for company equipment and hired items.
– Working closely with the Creative Team to facilitate and execute the artistic vision.
– Preparing and managing risk assessments, daily call sheets, and show reports.
– Managing budgets, receipts and expenses, and reporting to the Producer
– Supporting the team to deliver workshops, touch tours, stay and play, or talks related to the Project within the dates of this engagement.

Fee:
£4,224 (weekly fee of £650 plus holiday pay = £704 per week x 6 weeks)
