reelance Project Coordinator – Square Mile Churches: The Way Forward

London Diocesan Fund | Freelance | Part-time (approx. 3 days/week) | 12 months | £33,000-£36,000
The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is seeking a Freelance Project Coordinator to support delivery of the Square Mile Churches Project. Working with the Project Manager and wider team, you will provide day-to-day administration, communications, and coordination across the programme’s activities, ensuring effective communication, smooth documentation, and sustained stakeholder engagement.
Project Coordination and Administration

Maintain project plans, action trackers, and records. Coordinate events and workshops, including agenda preparation and action follow-up. Assist with progress reports and documentation for funders and stakeholders. Support correspondence and routine enquiries.
Communications and Engagement

Support communications with clergy, PCCs/GCCs, and project partners. Coordinate logistics for engagement events and meetings. Maintain and update the Square Mile Churches website. Draft newsletters, social media content, and project updates.
Fundraising and Programme Support

Support fundraising and development activity, including the City Appeal Feasibility Study. Collect and collate monitoring and evaluation information.
Buildings and Research Support

Collate information on quinquennial inspections and energy audits. Support consultancy coordination and conduct background research relating to partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
Skills and Experience

Essential: project coordination, administration, or communications experience; strong organisational and written communication skills; website and digital content experience; confidence with Microsoft Office; ability to work independently.
Desirable: experience in the heritage, charitable, faith-based, or community sectors; familiarity with Church of England structures; experience supporting events or fundraising.

Essential: experience in project coordination, administration, or communications; strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively; excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience maintaining websites and producing digital content; confidence with Microsoft Office and digital platforms; ability to work independently while supporting a wider team; an interest in heritage, culture, community engagement, or historic places.
Desirable: experience working with heritage, charitable, faith-based, or community organisations; familiarity with Church of England structures or a willingness to develop this knowledge; experience supporting events, engagement activities, or fundraising; experience with monitoring, evaluation, or reporting.
