Severn Arts
Job Description
We are inviting proposals from an artist/arts organisation to deliver a walkabout piece, encouraging audience interaction by travelling the route and guiding audiences across the city. Consider incorporating a co-created element developed with a local community group. The festival team will identify and connect artists with community partners in advance.
Centered on the theme “REFLECTIONS”, this is an opportunity to explore the dual nature of reflections. You could explore personal or shared perspectives as well as how light and reflection behave in the space.
The artwork will be created through workshops prior to the festival, with opportunities for the public and audiences to contribute in the days and evenings leading up to the event. The brief allows the artist flexibility in determining how the final piece is produced.
The Brief:
– Create a walkabout artwork that engages audiences across the city route.
– Respond to the theme REFLECTIONS in concept and/or material form.
– Include a co-created element with a community group (group to be identified in advance).
– Present clear infrastructure considerations on how the artwork will be presented.
– Work with our production team to lead or oversee the production and delivery of the final work.
Budget:
£6,000 inclusive of VAT, materials and production.
