Set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Charleston is the former home of the Bloomsbury Group. Today, the house museum, galleries, caf , shop and beautiful gardens welcome visitors from around the world, while our year-round programme of exhibitions, events and the renowned Charleston Festival make it a vibrant cultural destination.
As Operations Manager, you will lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver an outstanding, welcoming and accessible experience for every visitor. You will oversee all public-facing operations across the site, ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about people and culture, with experience leading customer-facing teams in a heritage, arts or visitor attraction setting. You will be highly organised, adaptable and confident managing a varied workload, with excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills. A commitment to accessibility, inclusion and collaborative working is essential, as is the ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.

Reporting to: Senior Leadership Team
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £27,700 – £33,800
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, primarily Wednesday to Sunday. Some evening and weekend work will be required
