Job Summary

SLYT is looking for a new Drama Teacher/Director to join our team in delivering classes to over 100 children aged 7 – 16 years every week; and within this to direct our annual productions staged at theatres across London. This role is an ongoing position starting September 2026.

Job Description

We are looking to appoint a new Drama Teacher / Director to lead our Tuesday night drama classes in Dulwich, South-East London, joining our existing and longstanding team of teachers.

Our 2 x 90 minute classes are delivered back to back on Tuesday evenings from 6.30-9.30pm, during normal school term time (approx 37 weeks per year) so 3 hours of teaching per week. The right candidate will be armed with ideas and creative ways to engage our students in an energised and active environment; encouraging development of skills and a passion for acting and performance.

Payment is £30 per hour / £90 per week.

This post is not suitable for an actor pursuing acting work.

Interviews: 9th and 10th July. 2nd round/trial class: Tuesday 14th July 2026.

Job Requirements

Excellent time keeping and organisation skills with a proven ability to deliver well structured and engaging drama classes to children of all ages, leading to full scale theatre productions.

Excellent training in drama and the performing arts.

First Aid training / certificate desirable.
