Job Description

This role is part time 28 hours per week on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract.

Motivated and passionate about improving children’s health, wellbeing, and resilience, you will support the development and delivery of engaging play opportunities for children and young people across Rugby Borough.

Play sessions are delivered throughout term time and holiday periods within parks, green spaces, schools, woodland settings, and community venues, including after-school provision and evening youth clubs. Activities include park play sessions, outreach provision, Activity Dens (indoor drop-in play sessions), borough wide events, and school-based programmes.

Within this programme, we are looking for someone able to support our Woodland Wanderers provision both in schools and holiday periods. Taking place in woodland spaces, school grounds and parks; the desired candidate will understand Forest School principles and explorative play to encourage outdoor learning, creativity, confidence, wellbeing, and connection with nature.

Alongside activities you’ll also be gathering feedback, identifying opportunities for future projects, and reporting findings and outcomes to the Play Development Officer and maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and session outcomes, alongside completing monitoring and evaluation information to evidence impact and support reporting requirements.

Job Requirements

– Experience of working with children in a nursery, school or play setting.
– Knowledge of play development and the wider benefits of play
– Be highly motivated and have an outgoing and
enthusiastic nature
– Experience of planning and delivering activities for children and young people
– Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
– Able to work independently and as part of a team
– Excellent Communication skills with various community partners.
– Excellent attendance and time keeping record
– Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
– Commitment to report potential child and vulnerable adults safeguarding issues.
