Youth Troupe Lead Facilitator

South London Youth Troupe is a multi-arts group for 7-11 year olds who have complex mental distress as a result of adverse childhood experiences. It is one of two flagship groups delivered through Theatre Troupe’s specialist attachment theory based and trauma-informed approach. The Youth Troupe Theatre Facilitator works alongside our artist-therapist. Both practitioners will collaborate on building a new theatre production to be produced and performed at the end of the project. Children have the opportunity to take part in a range of theatre activities as designed and facilitated by the theatre artist which may include one or more of the following: dramaturgy/devising, acting, directing, writing for the stage and dance/movement and choreography. You will also collaborate with a team of volunteers who offer artistic and therapeutic support to children throughout the process.

The role is both a therapeutic and a creative one. The Lead Theatre Facilitator will deliver artistic activities with excellence in mind at all times, and it will act as a therapeutic process where the work supports the reduction of mental distress in each child and enables them to move into brighter futures.
