Job Description
Working within a small team at Kettle’s Yard, the role of Development Manager gives an opportunity to make a big impression on the work of the organisation as well as seeing the impact that successful fundraising has on the development of high-quality exhibitions, research and community projects.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrable interest in fundraising within the arts and previous experience in a similar fundraising or sales environment. An adaptable communicator with strong interpersonal skills, the post holder will enjoy tailoring their approach to a variety of supporters, funders and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
Currently fundraising generates over £400,000 per annum and we need to grow this income year on year.
Philanthropic income at Kettle’s Yard is generated from a number of different sources: major gifts, Patrons and Friends schemes, charitable trusts and foundations, corporate sponsorship, legacy gifts and onsite and online donations.
The Development Manager is primarily responsible for leading the development, management and administration of the individual giving programmes for Kettle’s Yard, supported by the Development Assistant and Trust and Grants Coordinator (who are line managed by the Development Manager). Ensuring and growing sustainable sources of income in line with agreed targets.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director (Philanthropy), the Development Manager is responsible for driving the annual giving programme, through strong relationship management and stewardship of current and prospective donors (individuals, corporates and trusts).
