Call out for new show for children and families by South-West based artists/companies

Chapel Barn is a community arts and wellbeing centre in Milton Abbot. As part of our annual theatre programme, we are looking for a new comedy play by South-West based theatre companies/artists to be part of our 3-day theatre festival.

Our performance space is intimate, rustic and stripped back, with very little tech. We are interested in plays that rely on storytelling, imagination and liveness to captivate their audience. The play should be new but ready to perform to an audience in a full production, not a reading.

What are we looking for?
– South-West based theatre companies
– With a new show (that hasn’t been performed to an audience more than 5 times)
– For an audience of children & their families
– 45 mins long max

What will artists/companies receive?
– £500 commission
– 50% box office split
– Up to 3 days free rehearsal space
– A performance slot at our theatre festival on Saturday 20th or Sunday 21st June to share what you’ve been working on to a local audience

Please note that Chapel Barn is situated in a rural area outside Tavistock with poor transport links. Artists/companies should consider getting to and from the venue when applying.
