Job Summary
Job Description
Duties include:
Production
– Working with the Producer negotiating venue contracts and performance dates
– Working with the Producer on casting alongside the Director
– Carrying out availability checks for actors and production personnel
– Negotiating and drafting contracts with actors, designers, agents and production personnel
– Creating and maintaining production budgets
– Being responsible for the music rights for productions and liaison with PRS
– Being the first point of contact for the Production Manager whilst productions are developed
– Overseeing booking of company travel, relevant visas and work permits
– Overseeing and creating company tour schedules
– Researching and making contact with venues in the UK and abroad
– Creating and distributing production information packs to potential presenters
– Responding to touring enquiries and maintaining and updating contacts
Funding
– Drafting funding applications and co-ordinating funding reports with Producer
– Exploring new avenues for fundraising and sponsorship, including trusts and foundations, corporate and individual private givers
Communications and marketing
– Assisting the creative team with updating and maintaining social media pages and company website and sending regular newsletters
– Building and maintaining a mailing list
Other
– General support for Exec Producer
– Keeping up to date with theatrical trends and artists, actors, writers, directors, designers and production personnel
– 1927 is a registered charity with a board of trustees and there is often preparation required for quarterly meetings
Part-time employed role
3 days p/ week usually worked 10.00-18.00
£30,000 p/a pro-rata (actual salary £18,000 p/a)
Required to work 2 days a week in person with the Exec Producer in London/Margate and 1 day working remotely
Job Requirements
Essential
– At least 1.5 years’ experience in theatre administration and producing
– Experience of touring theatre and scheduling
– Negotiation skills
– Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to work under pressure to schedule and on budget
– Excellent attention to detail, methodical, with a creative approach to problem solving
– Experience of negotiating and drafting contracts
– Knowledge and understanding of theatre union agreements
– Willingness to work flexible hours
Desirable
– Knowledge and understanding of the arts funding system with particular reference to Arts Council England
– Experience of casting
