Hours: 10.00-18.00, 5 days per week, to include alternate Saturdays. About us: One of the leading rare book dealers in the world and the largest antiquarian book dealer in Europe, Peter Harrington has, for over half a century, dealt with a stock of thousands of fine books, from rare seventeenth-century Shakespeare folios to highly sought-after contemporary classics such as signed and inscribed first editions of the Harry Potter series. We have a team of over 70 staff across 3 sites in London, as well as a branch in New York. Our principal specialties include literature, economics, politics, philosophy, travel, navigation, military history, science and medicine, children’s books, and fine library sets. We exhibit regularly at several international book and antique fairs and look to continue our growth as one of the leaders in our field. We are seeking to appoint a general cataloguer to join our team. The primary aspects of the role will involve researching and cataloguing rare books, for which we will train you in our house style. We are looking for someone who can confidently manage and deliver a high volume of cataloguing to a consistently high standard. You’ll be working alongside our senior specialists across several departments, in Literature, History, Travel & Exploration, and Economics & Social Sciences. To be successful in this role you’ll need superb written English and research skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
