Artist: Story Fest – Mapping Our Imagination

The Story Forge Project is seeking a Lincolnshire-based illustrator or visual artist to create an imaginative, child-led illustrated map of Grantham as part of Story Fest 2026.

About the Project

Story Fest: Mapping Our Imagination is a creative literacy and visual arts project centred on children’s voices.

During Story Fest (28 March 2026, Grantham Guildhall Arts Centre), children will participate in creative workshops imagining their homes, streets and neighbourhoods in playful or fantastical ways. These ideas – drawings, stories, symbols and landmarks – will form the foundation of a professionally illustrated map.

The commissioned artist will transform this collective material into a vibrant, high-quality artwork for print and digital publication.

The final map will be:

• Printed and distributed locally (schools, libraries, families)

• Available digitally via The Story Forge website

• A lasting cultural asset celebrating young people’s perspectives
