Job Summary
We are looking for Head of Programme Growth and Sustainability (Maternity Cover) to oversee the delivery, sustainability and scaling of Breathe’s established portfolio of high-profile and impactful programmes.
Job Description
This role will work in close collaboration with other Senior Management Team members to provide strategic leadership, operational management and oversight of delivery of Breathe’s existing programmes.
Contract: 1 year Maternity Cover, expected until March 2027
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 FTE (depending on experience – pro rata for part time)
Working Days: 3 / 4 days per week (22.5 / 30 hours per week)
Deadline: 12pm, Thursday 5th March 2026
Interviews: First round interviews will be held on Tuesday 10th or Wednesday 11th March 2026
Job Requirements
Essential
- Significant experience of project management in a senior management role within the creative, healthcare and/or VCSE sector
- An excellent track record of project delivery including growing and scaling programmes
- Evidence and experience of having secured commissions from statutory, NHS and/or grant funders
- Excellent budget setting and financial management, with an eye for detail
- Demonstrable ability to think and plan strategically
- Direct experience of working with vulnerable participant groups
- Experience of designing programmes, collaborating with various professionals to ensure co-design
- A deep understanding and experience of different art forms
- Line-management experience
- Experience in Safeguarding policies and procedures
- Strong written skills, able to communicate complicate information with clarity and conciseness.
- Analytical thinker who can track programme impact through data and analytics
