Job Description
This role is about being the essential host, operational leader, and safety maestro-a compelling blend of service and discipline. As the key leader on shift, you are the final decision-maker and official point-of-contact (including In Case of Emergency), holding complete responsibility for the venue from the start to the end of your shift.
Job Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record in managing a large team within a dynamic environment, such as a high-volume hospitality setting or a fast-paced arts venue.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external (“on or off the stage”).
- Organisational Skills: A master of organisation, time management, and prioritisation, who remains calm and adaptable under pressure (“when the curtain is up”).
- Safety and Compliance:
- Mandatory: Strong, comprehensive knowledge of dietary requirements and allergens (this is non-negotiable).
- Working knowledge of executing Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Checks.
- Problem-Solving: A demonstrated ability to take initiative, own responsibilities, and solve problems proactively, much like a seasoned production veteran.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable and capable with a high degree of technological literacy.
