Job Summary

As part of the CASCADE project, Partners in Creative Learning are looking to commission an artist/a consortium of artists to create an audio trail for Burslem Town Centre, Stoke-On-Trent. The chosen artist/s will work closely with CASCADE’s Creative Producer and Year 7 & 8 students.

Job Description

The chosen artist/s will work with the students and Creative Producer to:
Decide on the route and locations of the audio trail.
Develop stories, characters and ideas to create content for the trail.
Record audio for the trail.
Get permissions for locations of the audio trail stops.
Install the trail with support.

Fee:
£6500 including VAT
This fee includes project proposal development, engagement workshops and activities, purchasing of materials, delivery and installation of audio trail, attendance at meetings and launch event and all other costs associated with the work including travel and expenses. This includes if you need to contract any other artists to help you in the creation of the work.

We anticipate between 20-28 days project work and delivery.

Job Requirements

The chosen artist/s must:
Be comfortable developing and creating work with young people.
Be enthusiastic about sharing their learning and knowledge with the next generation of creatives.
Deliver an audio project with the CASCADE steering group focussed on fostering community pride for Burslem and developing new creative skills.
Collaborate with CASCADE’s Creative Producer & the CASCADE steering group to develop the audio trail through a series of workshops that take place in Haywood Academy, Smallthorne Primary Academy & Mill Hill Primary Academy.
Positively engage young people in the production process of the audio trail.
Create an audio trail which whilst possibly referencing the history of the Town, is also forward looking and aspirational – something that the students, schools and residents can be proud of.
Have their own or access to sound recording and editing equipment.
Have Public Liability Insurance (up to £5 million).
Have an Enhanced DBS.
