The Almeida Theatre is seeking a Bar Staff Member (Duty Bar Manager Cover). This post is offered as a Part-Time contract.

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality worker looking to develop their supervisory skills. You will be trained up to provide occasional duty management cover as well as working regular shifts in a busy theatre caf bar, creating a warm, inclusive and efficient experience for our customers. You will generally work 2-3 shifts a week (12-14 hours) with the chance to take on extra hours. Pay is £14.82ph (Duty Manager) & £13.85ph (Bar Staff).

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience of team leading, supervising staff or Duty Management

  • Good basic mathematics and a willingness to learn cashing up

  • Proven ability to work well with colleagues in the bar and other departments

  • Dedicated and dynamic approach to providing a high level of customer service

  • Demonstrable understanding of managing staff

  • Ability to use initiative to respond to both expected and unexpected situations

  • A proven willingness to take on responsibility for the safety of customers and staff and the security of the building

  • A proven willingness to help out in all aspects of the bar including food preparation, where necessary

  • A commitment to working weekends and the flexibility to provide both scheduled and short notice cover
