Job Summary
The Learning & Participation Technician supports the smooth running of all Learning & Participation activities Adults, Schools, Families, Communities and Young People. This role is a 0.4 part-time role, the equivalent of 2 days a week.
Job Description
The role includes preparation of spaces and equipment, packing, glazing and firing work and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of workshop spaces which includes deep cleaning areas between workshops. The role supports the wider Leach Pottery team in ensuring all participants receive warm welcomes to the Leach Pottery. The role will contribute to the delivery of the National Lottery Heritage Fund activity programmes.
Job Requirements
Studio Care
- Preparing studios for workshops including;
- emptying clay traps
- cleaning tools
- moving equipment
- setting up each station for students
- Reviewing daily Health & Safety in Learning & Participation studios and highlighting any Health & Safety issues and maintenance issues and support the team implement procedures with freelancers
- Be on hand to solve technical problems during courses when appropriate, supporting both the tutors and Learning & Participation Staff
- Support freelancers and Learning & Participation staff to tidy and clean at the end of workshops
- To facilitate open access workshops
