Preston City Council’s Cultural Service now has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Technical Manager with excellent stage technical skills and experience.
As Technical Manager you will manage all aspects of the Technical Department, ensuring that all technical, facility and H&S aspects of the Guild Lounge are delivered to the highest quality. To manage the day-to-day technical operations of Guild Lounge guaranteeing effective systems are put in place to ensure that every performance is professionally prepared, all regulatory requirements are met and that all equipment is correctly maintained and fit for purpose. To ensure that all performances, workshops and events run smoothly from a technical perspective, including pre and post-show administrative duties, that will bring them back time and again
This is a critical role for the Guild Lounge to ensure that our ambitions to set up and grow the venue are realised. You will work closely with the Guild Lounge General Manager to lead this transformation.

Job Responsibilities
Oversee daily technical theatre operations professionally and efficiently. Manage, maintain, buy or hire equipment. Communicate with visiting companies and complete riders. Produce technical schedules for all events, covering staffing, equipment and resources. Maintain all technical facilities and ensure full compliance, including PAT testing. Manage the technical budget and report monthly. Lead, schedule and supervise the technical team, ensuring training, qualifications and high production standards. Maintain policies, procedures and service contracts. Track technical costs and show recharges. Support building maintenance, supervise contractors and ensure public areas remain safe and presentable. Uphold all Health & Safety regulations, policies, risk assessments and emergency procedures, including checks on visiting productions. Act as key holder, maintain building security, attend meetings and undertake additional duties to support effective venue operations.
