Job Summary

To cover Technical Stage Management, Sound No 2 and LX1 tracks for the Choir of Man as well as supporting the reset, maintenance and show operation requirements of the tour. Dates: 8th March 2026 – January 2027.

  • Work alongside stage management, company management, sound, venue, lighting and technical teams daily. Communicate in detail and collaborate with other departments at all times.
  • Attend production meetings as and when required.
  • Report any technical issues through the show reports or through a separate line of written communication to the relevant individuals.
  • Keep all relevant paperwork up to date and accurate, and generate any new paperwork as and when changes are made.
  • Learn various plots in case of illness/absence within the technical teams (multiple departments as required).
  • Stay up to date and competent across all tech swing tracks.
  • Work with and assist the relevant departments in the pre show checks, and pre sets.
  • Support all departments during the weekly venue load outs and tour moves.
  • Develop and undergo a rotating schedule with the rest of the show team.
  • Attend rehearsal, technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required
  • Assist with maintenance of all technical equipment.
  • Develop and learn about specific show related equipment.
  • Take on any other duties reasonably asked of a tech swing in a west end venue.
  • Comply with the Manager’s Health and Safety and other policies at all times

  • Communicate well with other crew members and be able to produce the required effects
  • Work well under pressure: be able to concentrate in a live environment
  • Experience in SM, lighting and Sound
  • Knowledge of ETC lighting desks, intelligent and generic lighting fixtures.
  • Knowledge of radio mic headset fittings and working with radio mics.
  • Understanding of the industry
  • Health and safety: be knowledgeable about and able to abide by relevant health and safety laws when using electrical equipment
