Job Description
You will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that supports the introduction of paid entry while upholding MOX’s reputation for accessibility, inclusivity and community engagement. Working with museum staff, Oxford City Council and the Museum of Oxford Development Trust, you will shape messaging, run integrated campaigns and manage stakeholder communications during a sensitive period of change.
Funded by DCMS/Arts Council England as a Museum Renewal Fund grant, this short-term but high-impact contract includes supporting the handover to a newly created in-house marketing role by March 2026.

Job Requirements
About You
Essential:

Available from mid-December 2025 and able to work at pace.

Proven marketing leadership in museums, culture, heritage or tourism.

Strong strategic, digital and communications expertise.

Experience managing sensitive or change-related communications.

Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and data-led decision-making skills.
Desirable:

Knowledge of Oxford’s cultural landscape.

Experience in social-history or community-focused museums.
-
Content production or design skills.
-
Experience of public sector or Arts Council-funded projects.
