Job Description
The Museum of Oxford (MOX) is introducing a small paid admission fee for the first time, launching mid-January 2026. We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead this time-critical transition, ensuring a smooth, well-coordinated change that protects visitor experience and supports the museum’s long-term sustainability.
Working closely with museum staff, Oxford City Council, and external specialists, you’ll oversee planning, operations, stakeholder engagement, training, communications, and risk management. You will ensure all systems-from ticketing to marketing-are fully prepared, and you will deliver the final evaluation report for Arts Council England.
Job Requirements
What we’re looking for:

Immediate availability (December 2025-March 2026)

Strong project management experience in museums, heritage or tourism

Experience with ticketing systems and change-management projects

Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Understanding of museum operations

Knowledge of Oxford’s cultural landscape and Arts Council England reporting is a bonus
