Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to assist a contemporary artist on a high-profile public artwork for Landsec’s newest development Timber Square to be unveiled March 2026. Hive Curates are seeking enthusiastic and reliable labourers to support an artist in the production of a mosaic sculpture.

Job Description

This is a hands-on role supporting professional artist Clare Burnett, former president of the Royal Society of Sculptors, whose work explores the complexities of modern life through sculpture and installation.
Clare Burnett’s practice responds to themes such as technology, consumerism, migration, and globalisation. She makes abstract, coloured sculptures using a wide range of materials and processes ranging from mosaic, wood and bronze to resin and concrete, that subtly highlight
societal tensions. Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, National Gallery, and Leighton House Museum, and is held in collections including the State Collection of Cypriot Art and Museum Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg. (https://clareburnett.net).
Timber Square is the first of its kind in Bankside, Timber Square’s first phase is one of Europe’s most exciting net zero development projects, helping pioneer the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) in the UK. The project will deliver 380,000 sq ft of modern work, retail and leisure space
and targets net zero emissions in both construction and operation.

The public sculpture will create a new landmark for Southwark and reflect sustainable innovation of the development. Set to be completed in early 2026, Seedlinks will feature three mosaic sculptures inspired by the rich heritage of the local area, serving as a striking new landmark for the community and encouraging elements of touch, conversation and play.
