Job Summary

The hugely successful, long-running West End production of smash-hit musical SIX is looking for a Wardrobe Assistant to join the team at the Vaudeville Theatre, starting in December 2025 for a one-year fixed term contract.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Wardrobe Assistant to support our Wardrobe team. Responsibilities include:

Attend rehearsals/fittings as agreed; assist with costume maintenance and repairs; assist with laundry; assist with dressing the actors and quick change moments; maintaining wardrobe stock; supporting the SIX Costume studio and store, roughly 4-5 hours per week; assist deps; support and work with the Head of Wardrobe and Deputy Head of Wardrobe; follow up on all notes regarding costumes in your care; collaboratively work with all other departments; assist in the maintenance of COSHH records and Health & Safety records; maintain spending records and receipts; any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of a Wardrobe Assistant.

Job Requirements

Essential
Relatable experience in a similar Wardrobe position on a comparable production either in the West End or on Tour;
Knowledge and experience on the working practices of a West End production;
Strong sewing skills, both hand and machine;
Strong laundry skills;
Experience of wardrobe maintenance;
Experience of dressing actors;
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail;
Respectful approach and consideration of others, bearing in mind the potentially sensitive nature of wardrobe/costume work;
The ability to work closely with actors and creative teams, and handle confidential information with discretion;
A proactive and flexible attitude;
The ability to work well under pressure and effectively prioritise;
The ability to work well in a team and independently.

Desirable
Experience of working with unconventional fabrics including handling and maintaining glued crystal / stud embellishments.
Experience of cataloguing items
