Chain Reaction
Job Summary
Job Description
We’re seeking an energetic, streetwise and inspiring male drama facilitator to join Chain Reaction, an award-winning London-based charity using theatre and media to ignite personal and social change since 1994.
From January to March 2026, we’re launching Act Up at a boys’ school in Newham, East London – a dynamic 11-week confidence and resilience-building programme for vulnerable young men aged 13-16.
Act Up supports students whose behaviour or attendance may be affecting their learning. A key aim of the programme is to reduce youth violence by using creative, theatre-based activities and inspiring participants to re-engage with school, build motivation and exceed expectations.
Through a pre-designed programme of role play, discussion and performance, Act Up offers ‘at-risk’ young men positive, creative experiences that develop self-belief, teamwork, communication and emotional intelligence.
Because the project is delivered in a boy’s school and designed to support vulnerable young men, we are seeking a male facilitator who can provide strong, positive role modelling. Many of the boys may have limited access to positive male influences. A male facilitator helps challenge stereotypes around masculinity and models healthier, non-violent ways of communicating. By showing that strength and sensitivity can coexist, the facilitator helps these young men build confidence, resilience and responsibility – contributing to safer schools and stronger communities.
This is an 11-week contract running from Wednesday 7 January to Wednesday 25 March 2026 (no session on 18 February for half term).
- Session times: Wednesday afternoons.
- Format: 8 single sessions (2.5 hours each) and 3 double sessions (4 hours each), including setup and debrief.
- Pay: £95 per single session/£122 per double session.
This is a unique opportunity to join a bold, purpose-driven project making a real difference to young lives through creativity, energy and heart.
