Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our Front of House team. Supporting shows, events, private functions, and weekly classes, Front of House Assistants play a vital role in the smooth running of the Playhouse and in delivering an excellent visitor experience.

Job Description

Rate of Pay: £13.15 per hour

Contract: Part time, permanent

Work Hours: Minimum 6 hours a week

Overtime: Any additional hours worked beyond the contracted 6 hours per week will be paid at the hourly rate as agreed with management

Annual Leave: 5.5 days per year (including bank holidays),pro rata based on a full-time entitlement of 29 days

Responsible to: Duty Managers

Job Requirements

  • Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors, audiences, and building users.
  • Ensure the Playhouse, including studios, offices, and public areas, is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Promote ticket sales, studio hires, fundraising initiatives, and classes. Support the Duty Manager with event assistance, box office setup, and general FOH duties.
  • Operate the bar, sell programmes, merchandise, food, and drinks, and assist patrons with access needs.
  • Monitor audience behaviour, act as evacuation marshal, and respond to safeguarding, health, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly presence and assist with pre- and post-show duties to ensure a smooth experience for all visitors.
