Dash Arts are recruiting a London-based Company Stage Manager for our brand new touring production Our Public House, rehearsing and performing 13 April – 21 June 2026. We are seeking an experienced and confident CSM, with a level of 2 or above in British Sign Language.
This is a freelance, fixed term contract for services which requires self-employed status, offered on the basis of an existing London base for the duration of the engagement.
Salary: £780 per week plus travel and a Living Away Allowance (outside London) of £453 per week
Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week x 10 weeks

Leeds Playhouse (Courtyard) (7 shows during 15 – 23 May)
Shakespeare North Playhouse (6 shows during 26 – 30 May)
Belgrade Theatre (B2) (3 or 4 shows during 4 – 6 June)
Sterts Arts & Environmental Centre (3 shows during 12 – 13 June)
Sheffield Theatres (Playhouse) (5 shows during 17 – 20 June)
Rehearsals (London): 13 April – 9 May
Tech week (Leeds): w/c 11 May
First public performance (Leeds): 15 May
Runs until: 20 June with travel back on Sunday 21 June
Returns 22 & 23 June 2026 will be paid additionally at a day rate if the CSM is available and the company needs their assistance.
Our Public House is a rousing, funny and deeply human exploration of democracy and solidarity.
All performances are captioned, and one per venue is BSL-interpreted.
The cast is made up of 6 actors. One cast member is deaf and communicates vocally, lip reads, and uses SSE and BSL. BSL interpreters will provide interpretation during rehearsals and tech days on tour, however they won’t be present on the rest of the tour (ie. on regular call days or travel).
There will also be community participation in each location, however this will be the responsibility of the company’s Assistant Director. On occasions when we will integrate deaf participants, with BSL interpreters facilitating interpretation.

Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience as Company Stage Manager
- Experience touring to similar scale of venues
- Experience working with and supporting creative teams
- Experience running technical rehearsals
- Experience working with community participants and with deaf performers and/or participants
