Job Summary

Towner is seeking a full-time Engagement Programme Co-ordinator (fixed-term, up to February 2027) to support the development and testing of new heritage, arts and nature activities as part of the Black Robin Farm Development Phase, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF)

Job Description

This role will support the broad development of engaging and innovative learning activities and events at Black Robin Farm, a new arts, learning & heritage site on the South Downs outside Eastbourne. These will include pilot activities across Eastbourne and at Towner, specifically in the areas of audience development, widening access to Eastbourne’s Heritage Collections and new activities exploring art, heritage and nature. This programme of pilot activities is part of the Development Phase, funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF); the findings of which will then inform the future programme at Black Robin Farm. Key duties include liaison with participants and artists, preparing spaces & materials for events, supporting evaluation and monitoring processes, outreach to new audiences and providing general administrative and operational support associated with these new events and activities.

Candidates must have experience of:

  • Supporting the delivery of creative learning activities for a range of participants.
  • Organisation of learning activities and events, including admin and operational tasks.
  • Generating and collating information, data and imagery to support clear visual communication for different teams or stakeholders.
  • Supporting evaluation and reporting of activities/projects, including data collection.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion, particularly in the context of community engagement.
  • Understanding of health and safety within an event context.
