Job Description

Could you be a Trustee for darts?

We are looking to recruit three new Trustees to join our brilliant board.

You do not need to have previous trustee experience – just your own knowledge and understanding of your sector / practice.

We are specifically seeking:

  • Practicing artists specialising in participatory arts practice
  • Leaders in education or academia
  • Business leaders and local influencers
  • Finance experts
  • Leaders in devolved authority, local authority or policy

We want our trustees to be real advocates for darts and to help us strive for our mission for everyone to feel an accepted and valued part of the community, creating a healthier and more connected society.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities of all Trustees

  • Support and provide advice on darts’ purpose, vision, goals and activities
  • Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation
  • Oversee darts’ financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress. Review and approve darts’ financial statements.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation
  • Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively
  • Provide support and challenge to darts’ CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs
  • Keep abreast of changes in darts’ operating environment.
  • Contribute to regular reviews of darts’ own governance.
  • Be adequately prepared for Board meetings, to contribute fully to discussions. Attend all Board meetings where possible
  • Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect darts’ interests
