Job Summary

The Deputy Company Manager will actively support the Company Manager in leading the management and scheduling of all Performers at the Experience. The Deputy Company Manager will actively contribute to leading a cohesive and motivated team, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.

Job Description

Leadership and Supervision

  • Support the Company Manager in managing NA and holiday requests, ensuring adequate Performer coverage.
  • Manage swings and oversee mid-show cast swaps as required due to welfare, injury or illness.
  • Provide after care to Performers following incidents and compile incident reports as required.
  • Support the Company Manager in the daily management of Performers. Support in overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the experience, in conjunction with the wider show team, by ensuring all Performers are onsite and fit to perform their duties.
  • Support the performance management, motivation and discipline within the department.
  • Support the Performers, Stage Management, Wardrobe, FoH and Venue Management teams in any potentially conflicting situations throughout the experience.
  • Support the Company Manager in keeping the Performers up to date with production updates and ensure they adhere to their contractual obligations.
  • Support the Company Manager to organise and support the running of rehearsals and test runs for new and/or current Performers.
  • Support the show team in responding to emergency codes and de-escalating situations during the experience. This may include managing audiences, addressing damaged scenery or technical issues, attending medical incidents (with escalation to first aiders), supporting distressed individuals (with FoH and line managers available), and ensuring safe spaces by removing physical or bio hazards (with escalation to VM). Responsibilities may also involve taking statements and logging incidents.
  • Support the Company Manager to collate information on emergency procedures in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Venue Manager, relevant to the Performers and wider operations.

Job Requirements

Experience and Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in Company Management
A keen interest in and passion for live/immersive productions.
Previous experience managing teams.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to de-escalate tense situations and independently manage conflict resolution.
Ability to build trust and rapport with a team while simultaneously serving the needs of the business.
Experience in and a flair for working with spreadsheets and other IT software.
Desirable:
Experience in a live/immersive production setting.
