Scenic Artist (Grade 3) (1568)
Are you an established set painter with a background in theatre or a similar industry? Do you enjoy working collaboratively to meet deadlines?
We are looking for a confident Scenic Artist to join our team based at our workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon. In this role you will create and paint scenery and props using a variety techniques and finishes.
Reporting to the Head of Scenic Art, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
- Developing and using specialist techniques to deliver the required scenery.
- Assisting with alterations, maintenance and refurbishment.
- Ensuing compliance with health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Working with a variety of materials to help with realisation of designs.
- Learning new methods and innovative thinking techniques
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:
- Experience of set painting in theatre or similar industry.
- The ability to paint and draw from drawings and references
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- The ability to solve problems with a positive, solutions orientated outlook
- Creative contribution to techniques and processes, introducing new methods and approaches.
- The ability to work collaboratively; supporting and assisting designers, colleagues and creative teams.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 1 year, based in our Workshops on Timothy’s Bridge Road, in Stratford-upon-Avon, where the working hours will be 44 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
