Choreographer / Movement Director (Movement Designer)

Hello! I’m looking for a passionate choreographer-someone who can feel, shape, and celebrate moments of movement-to collaborate on my exceptional new live theatre project, **Survivor Samsara**.

Seeking Movement Director or Movement Designer for Survivor Samsara, a unique live performance project that fuses theatre, ritual, live music, drag artistry, and intercultural storytelling. The piece is staged within a theatrical boxing ring, weaving together elements of British, Turkish, and Punjabi-Sikh experiences. Survivor Samsara addresses themes of homelessness, identity, and spiritual transformation through a seven-act, Brechtian episodic structure. Each act is supported by live kirtan music, incorporating tabla drumming and original improvisation. The performance is political and spiritual, inviting both the audience and performers into a shared ritual of reflection, renewal, and celebration of British South Asian identity.

We are looking for a collaborator who can design movement and physical storytelling beyond conventional dance-someone open to expressive gesture, ritual movement, and innovative physical theatre. Your role will include developing movement that is both structured and improvisational, responsive to themes of survival, rebirth, and intercultural dialogue. Experience with interdisciplinary or intercultural projects is highly valued, as is an openness to working with live musicians and non-traditional performers.
