Job Summary
Job Description
Elizabeth Gaskell’s House is looking for a trustee with significant fundraising experience to join the board, ideally somebody with trust and corporate fundraising experience for the charitable sector. Experience of the heritage and/or arts sector would also be an advantage.
You will support the House Director and board of trustees through identifying funding opportunities, advising on applications and fundraising strategies, and leading the fundraising sub-committee.
You don’t need to have had any former trustee experience. If you have experience in charity governance or leadership then that’s fantastic.
All our trustees must be willing to learn about charity governance and be committed to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
We expect trustees to take a close interest in and support the activities of the House wherever possible and this trustee will lead the fundraising sub-committee which meets quarterly on Zoom. You will also be invited to join other committees for specific projects as they arise.
Although the majority of our meetings are held on Zoom, the AGM and two meetings per year take place in person and therefore the board would prefer candidates who are North West based.
