Job Summary

We are looking for two friendly and enthusiastic booksellers to sell copies of our newly published book “Above and Beyond: 30 Years of the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival” by Fiona Hughes.

Job Description

Essential Experience & Qualities

  • Retail / service industry experience
  • Interest in the arts and specifically GDIF
  • Have previously attended GDIF events
  • Confident and friendly communicator

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and packing down the books at the stall at the beginning and end of each shift. This will involve some manual handling.
  • Ensuring books are well maintained and carefully stored.
  • Updating an inventory and sales record document at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Taking payments for the book via Izettle
  • Answering questions about GDIF and the 2025 programme

Availability

Attendance at the festival for the following times is essential:

  • Friday 22 August – 7.15pm – 10.15pm (Woolwich Town Centre)
  • Saturday 23 August – 12.30pm – 7.30pm (Greenwich Park)
  • Sunday 24 August – 12.30pm – 7.30pm (Greenwich Park)
  • Saturday 30 August – 12.30pm – 5.30pm (North Greenwich)
  • Sunday 31 August – 12.30pm – 5.30pm (North Greenwich)
  • Saturday 6 September – 12.30pm – 7.30pm (Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford)

Total hours within contract – 31 or 35 hours

Rate of pay

£15 per hour including paid hour lunch break for shifts over 5 hours. This is a freelance role with wages paid via invoice.
