Job Summary

The Canal & River Trust is seeking an experienced and organised Creative Producer to support the delivery of the Smethwick Imaginarium – a vibrant, place-based arts programme that celebrates local identity, creativity and connection to nature, culture and heritage. Approx 67 days required.

The Canal & River Trust is seeking an experienced and organised Creative Producer to support the delivery of the Smethwick Imaginarium – a vibrant, place-based arts programme that celebrates local identity, creativity and connection to nature, culture and heritage.

The programme has been shaped by local voices and artistic vision. With the framework, artists and outline plan already in place, we are now looking for a freelance producer to lead on delivery – working with artists, Trust staff, partners, and community members to co-create and co-commission inspiring activities in Smethwick.

Job Requirements

The creative producer will be expected to

  • Work with artists and support the delivery of community-based arts projects

  • Communicate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, partners and community groups

  • Manage budgets and coordinate multiple events and activities

  • Inclusively collaborate and with diverse communities

  • Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation (data collection, reporting, etc.)

  • Manage time independently and work across multiple teams and partners

  • Be passionate for arts, community engagement, and place-based cultural development

  • Interest in working across themes of nature, wellbeing, heritage and environment

  • Adherence to the Trusts policies and procedures including health and safety, safeguarding equality and diversity and adherence to financial procedures including an enhanced DBS
