Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and passionate educator to join our Learning Team as Schools Outreach Educator. You will be responsible for delivering inspiring and impactful Holocaust education sessions in primary and secondary schools across the UK, both in-person and online.

You will be responsible for delivering inspiring and impactful Holocaust education sessions in primary and secondary schools across the UK, both in-person and online.

In addition to teaching, this is a target-based role with a strong focus on outreach and relationship-building. You will be expected to market the Museum’s programmes to schools, recruit new partners, and grow our national reach – helping more young people access the vital lessons of the Holocaust.

Key Responsibilities Programme Delivery

    • Deliver impactful Holocaust education sessions to primary and secondary school students across the UK, in- school and online.
    • Tailor sessions to suit the learning needs of diverse school communities.
    • Ensure safeguarding and high-quality learner experience are maintained at all times.

Recruitment, Marketing & Target Setting

    • Proactively market the Museum’s outreach offer to schools nationwide.
    • Build and maintain relationships with school staff, MATs and LEAs to increase engagement.
    • Meet agreed recruitment and delivery targets for in-school and online sessions.
    • Support the wider communications and development teams in sharing impact stories and best practice.

Resource Development

    • Collaborate with colleagues to refine and develop curriculum-linked materials.
    • Ensure all resources reflect our pedagogy and respond to current challenges such as anti-Jewish hate and online conspiracy culture.
    • Contribute to pre- and post-session evaluations and continuous improvement.

Professional and Team Development

    • Stay informed about best practice in Holocaust education, anti-racism teaching, and misinformation literacy.
    • Attend regular (remote and onsite) team meetings and training days.
    • Support cross-departmental projects as needed.

Job Requirements

Criteria

Essential (E) / Desirable (D)

Qualified Teacher Status-E

Experience teaching in UK primary and/or secondary schools-E

Deep knowledge of the Holocaust and anti-Jewish hate-E

Understanding of safeguarding requirements-E

Basic financial/budget awareness-E

Experience developing curriculum resources

Experience conducting risk assessments-E

Experience using museum/archive collections in education-D

Experience delivering teacher CPD-D

Experience managing budgets/reporting to funders-D

Skilled communicator and relationship-builder-E

Proactive, creative and goal-oriented-E

Committed to inclusion and equality-E

Calm, professional and reliable under pressure-E

Full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel-E
