Chaperones will work directly with the Ensemble of The Nutcracker, two groups of local young people (13yrs to 16yrs) who will be performing alongside our outstanding professional cast.

Job Description

The role of a Chaperone will directly work with the Ensemble of The Nutcracker, two groups of local young people (13yrs to 16yrs) who will be performing alongside our outstanding professional cast. Full training will be provided, and appropriate licensing must be acquired by successful candidates, with the support of Taunton Brewhouse. This role does not require previous experience of chaperoning, though experience of working on professional productions and/or with young people will be beneficial.

Rate of pay is £12.50 per hour. The successful candidate must be registered as self employed and is fully responsible for paying all relevant contributions to HMRC. The role is likely to be between 100 and 150 hours across November and December 2025

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL –

Experience working with a range of individuals with various access, support, and medical needs –

Strong and reliable communication skills –

Excellent time management skills –

Access to own transport to and from the venue – Proven experience of working with young people –

Willingness to acquire a Chaperone License, which includes an Enhanced DBS Clearance

DESIRABLE –

Based in the South West of England –

Previous experience of working on mid-scale theatre productions –

An awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures
