Dance Teacher

Job Summary

• To have a wide range of skills and up-to-date knowledge of dance, including technique and choreography.
• Plan, create and deliver appropriate material/routines that explore and develop dance techniques for 7 – 18 – year olds.
• Plan schemes of work and lessons in advance, which enable clear progression.
• To regularly monitor student progression within sessions to write reports that inform parents/guardians about areas of strength and areas for development to maximise learning for all our students.
• For this position, you must be able to commit to 36 term-time sessions.

Saturdays – 9:45 – 1 pm (FROM £60 per session)

Venue: Footlights Didsbury – The Barlow RC High School

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Formal Qualification(s) in dance, including ballet and jazz. (Bachelor’s Preferred)
• Experience of working with 7 – 18-year-olds
• Good working knowledge of current dance technique
• A ‘team’ player with the ability to work flexibly as part of a diverse team.
• Excellent oral communication skills, especially concerning staff, students and parents/guardians.
• Positive, enthusiastic, energetic and with a proactive can-do attitude
• DBS checked or willing to obtain one. (We will assist with this)

Your ability to commit to 36 term-time sessions is paramount as we pride ourselves on continuity and our learners’ progression.
