Job Description
Creative Mash is seeking a passionate and engaging art teacher to join our summer performing arts holiday camps. You’ll deliver one or two art session per day and support our team of drama and dance facilitators for the rest of the day – making sure the kids have a fun and creative experience.
Age Groups:
Children aged 5-6, 7-11, or mixed groups of 5-11 years old (depending on camp size).
When:
6 weeks during the summer: 21st July – 29th August 2025.
You don’t need to commit to all six weeks – one-week slots are available. Ideally, we’d love a commitment of at least two weeks.
Time:
Monday to Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm (arrive by 8:45am for setup).
One-hour lunch break provided.
Location: London, Hackney – camps held in Stoke Newington and Haggerston.
Salary: £110 per day (self-employed facilitators only)
Job Requirements
- Artistic or crafty background, with hands on skills and a flair for creativity.
- Experience running fun, engaging sessions for children aged 5-11.
- A kind, caring nature – someone who keeps children safe, happy, and well looked after.
- Positive, flexible team player who loves working in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire kids with structured, playful activities.
- Enhanced DBS (or willing to get one)
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and lead fun, hands on craft sessions based on the weekly creative theme.
- Prepare and submit simple session plans in advance.
- Help children design and make props, backdrops, and costumes for the final performance.
- Support the drama and dance facilitators during their sessions to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Encourage children to explore, experiment, and enjoy their making.
- Assist with supervision and daily routines to help keep camp safe, happy, and well organised.
