Assistant Stage Manager

Pace Live

Job Summary

Join Eireann by A Taste of Ireland as ASM. Support the show across stage management, wardrobe, flying, camera operation, and more. £800/week + £250 per diems + accommodation. Ideal for a hands-on, technically confident touring ASM with show-calling experience.

Job Description

We’re seeking a skilled, proactive Assistant Stage Manager for the international tour of Eireann, the brand-new production by A Taste of Ireland. This is a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary role ideal for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and teamwork on the road.

Working closely with the Company Stage Manager and technical team, you’ll assist with running rehearsals, managing wardrobe and quick changes, flying elements, and operating vision equipment. You may also be called upon to run the show if needed – so cue-calling experience is essential. You’ll be a key part of the daily bump-in, pack-down, and show-running process in every venue.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, tech-savvy, and comfortable switching between departments. Touring experience is a plus, but a positive attitude and practical confidence are most important.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with show calls, tech rehearsals, and stage management duties

  • Operate camera/vision systems for live-feed elements of the production

  • Manage wardrobe, quick changes, and basic costume maintenance

  • Support flying/mechanical operations in venues where applicable

  • Assist with daily pack-in/pack-out, and uphold show standards on the road

  • Step in to call performances if required

  • Maintain open communication with the Stage Manager and touring crew

Accommodation, travel, and per diems provided. Fixed-term contract for touring period, commencing early August.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience as an ASM or similar in touring or professional theatre

  • Strong understanding of stagecraft, including wardrobe, props, and show prep

  • Experience operating live camera/vision systems essential

  • Basic knowledge of flying systems and mechanical setups preferred

  • Able to call a show if required, including cue-calling under pressure

  • Practical, hands-on mindset and calm under pressure

  • Strong team player with good communication and problem-solving skills

  • Physically fit and willing to assist with pack-ins/outs

  • Full-time availability from early August through the touring period
