Job Summary

A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story, Mark Gatiss’ retelling of Dickens’ winter ghost story, returns to Alexandra Palace Theatre this year and we’re looking for an experienced Technical Assistant Stage Manager to join the team

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be responsible for the running of shows, including the pre-show set-up and scene changes.

  • To work closely with the stage management team to run rehearsals.

  • To oversee maintenance of props and furniture on the production, alongside the rest of the stage management team and the Production Manager.

  • Cover the Sound No. 2 pre-set and show plot as required.

  • To be ‘on the book’ and call the production on a regular basis.

  • To make petty cash purchases as required and account for expenditure.

  • To ensure that all relevant paper work and documentation is correctly written up, amended and distributed as required.

  • To carry out all other duties normally associated with the role of an Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover) on a first-class play.

Job Responsibilities

  • An experienced Assistant Stage Manager who has experience on a similar scale of production.
  • Previous experience with operational sound and radio mics.

  • Candidates who can be flexible and work well as part of a team.

  • Solution-focused candidates who work calmly under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
