Job Description
Seeking production team members for “Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical.” From the moment you arrive, you’ll find yourself immersed in the halls of Rydell High alongside Danny and Sandy as every corner of the set comes alive. With live music, a summer fairground, and classic American diner-inspired delights, every unforgettable moment and song from Grease unfolds before your eyes.
Rehearses 30 June-19 July (with load-in starting 12 July) in London or Battersea, England; runs 5 Aug.-7 Sep. (with load-out completing 10 September) in London or Battersea, England.
Fixed-Term Contract Saturday 12 July – Tuesday 9 September
Rate: £800 / week
Total Pay: £6,400 (est. 8 weeks of work)
Job Requirements
Previous experience as a Lighting Assistant, LX3, casual technician or similar in theatre or live events.
Basic understanding of DMX networks and familiarity with common consoles (grandMA3).
Comfortable working at height and with hand tools/access equipment.
Calm under pressure, good communicator and strong team player.
Keen to learn and develop broader electrical and programming skills.
Working knowledge of UK theatre health-and-safety regulations (PUWER, LOLER, PAT, etc.).
Job Responsibilities
Support the Head of Lighting (LX1) and Deputy (LX2) with daily tasks, including rigging, cabling and focusing.
Prepare and check lanterns, power distribution and control systems before rehearsals and performances.
Operate follow-spots and run basic lighting cues as directed during tech rehearsals and shows.
Assist with fault-finding and quick fixes on site, escalating complex issues to LX2/LX1.
Keep the workspace tidy, label kit and help with load-ins, changeovers and de-rigs.
Follow all health-and-safety procedures, especially when working at height and with electrical systems.
Attend production meetings and note sessions to stay aligned with the Lighting Designer’s vision.
