Salford’s Cultural Education Partnership (SCEP) brings together arts, cultural, youth and educational organisations to enhance creative opportunities for children and young people across Salford.
SCEP recently launched a new 3-year Cultural Education strategy for Salford titled: PLAY IS POWERFUL. This ambitious plan seeks to accelerate access to Arts, Culture & Creativity across 5 strategic priorities for Children and Young people in Salford.
SCEP are seeking an experienced, organised and proactive Freelance Producer to deliver their core programme of events and to support general operational activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to Salford’s cultural education sector while working flexibly as part of a dynamic partnership.
Key Responsibilities In consultation with the Strategic Lead, Chair & Steering group, the Producer will be responsible for activating the SCEP’s planned core programme of thematic events, and providing general operational and administrative support.
Location: Salford (hybrid – remote working with in-person events/meetings)
Fee: £9,000 fixed fee for 1 day a week, across 40 weeks. This is based on £225 per day (inclusive of all expenses)
Contract: Fixed-term freelance, June 2025 – End March 2026
Hours: 1 day per week (40 days total)
Job Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in arts/cultural/Creative event production and coordination
- Strong background and understanding of Cultural Education
- Previous experience of working with schools/youth org
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Strong skills in partnership building and working across a varied network of people
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience in minute-taking and administrative support
- Proficiency with social media platforms and basic content creation
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Problem-solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail
- Understanding of safeguarding practices when working with young people
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Salford’s cultural, educational and youth ecosystem
- Previous involvement with partnership or collaborative projects
- Understanding/experience of working with Cultural Education Partnerships
- Experience in managing budgets and resources effective
