As we approach the final year of our current programme (2025–2026), we’re seeking a skilled freelance fundraiser to help us achieve our income targets and lay the groundwork for our next phase.

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser to support our income generation strategy during this transition phase.

The role will focus on securing match income (over £75,000) through Trusts and Foundations and supporting strategic partnership development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in securing funding in the cultural sector, with a particular focus on co-creation with communities.

  • Contract Type: Freelance, part-time
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Budget: £6,250 (day rate to be proposed)
  • Working days: Estimated 25-30 days (to be proposed)
  • Location: Remote (UK-based), with occasional in-person meetings (Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire)

Fee and Time Commitment

The budget for this role is £6,250 and applications should include a proposal for how you would allocate your time, your availability and your day rate.

As this is a freelance role, you will be responsible for managing your own tax obligations, tracking your income and expenses, and ensuring compliance with any relevant legal or regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will be expected to provide your own equipment necessary for the role, maintain appropriate records for invoicing, and manage your own time and workflow to meet agreed-upon deadlines.

Job Requirements

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record in fundraising from Trusts & Foundations (medium grant level at £10k-100k+)
  • Demonstrable experience of securing funding for community arts or similar non-profit projects
  • Strong bid writing and research skills
  • Ability to translate complex work into compelling, accessible narratives
  • Experience working with community-based or arts-led programmes
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs

Desirable

  • A track record of successfully applying to Arts Council England
