Job Description
To assist the Technical & Production Manager in the smooth operation of all performance spaces, across our two buildings, and maintenance of technical equipment.

Responsibilities include –
Attending production meetings, technical rehearsals, get-ins, get-outs and performances as required.
Liaising with Visiting Companies, advising on and supporting their residency. Ensuring the Visiting Company fulfil their contractual requirements, monitor and assist to ensure they are aware and comply with all relevant Health & Safety requirements of Southwark Playhouse.
Running seating turnarounds.
Leading on co-ordinating the technical requirements of Sunday events.
Booking freelance crew as and when required, ensuring Purchase Orders are issued promptly.
Acting as Duty Technician during daytime operations and performances, being on call for any technical issues arising around the building.
Ensuring working practices throughout the building adhere to the in-house Health & Safety policy, maintaining Health & Safety records and attending any relevant training.
Being primarily responsible for ensuring all technical equipment and company tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Carrying out minor alterations and improvements to the Theatre buildings as may be necessary.
Job Requirements
Personal Specification
Essential
– At least one-year experience in technical theatre or production management.
– Highly self- motivated with a strong attention to detail.
– Excellent organisation and time management skills.
– Strong ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
– Knowledge and practical experience of Health & Safety.
– Knowledge of and experience of working at height practices.
– Competence with relevant power tools.
– Excellent interpersonal skills.
– Flexibility in relation to duties and working hours, which will include evenings and weekend.
Desirable
– Experience in managing staff and coordinating teams.
– Experience with ETC EOS series desks and Qlab.
– Flexible and creative approach to work.
– IT competency, specifically Excel, Outlook and AutoCAD (or similar).
– First Aid / Fire Marshal trained (will be provided if not).
– Experience of livestreaming technologies.
– Experience of IT networking.
